I have a Legal Declaration and am moving to another country for a certain period, can I then live in Curaçao again?

The admission and therefore the Declaration of Right ends:

  1. due to the expiry of the reason why the VRW was awarded.
  2. for those who have been admitted by operation of law and have been residing abroad for an uninterrupted period of more than three years, unless the person is residing abroad for study purposes or for medical treatment.
  3. when the adult Dutch or American national, admitted by operation of law, no longer has housing and sufficient means of subsistence.
  4. with regard to the minor Dutch national of whom one of the parents exercising parental authority no longer meets the conditions of the Declaration of Legal Authority granted.

Are you going to stay in another country for a while? Then you can return within three years and your Declaration of Right is still valid. Please note, if you deregister and move to another country, your Declaration of Right will expire.
